Canon Speedlite 199A Electronic Flash
I think that this is a great flash for 35 mm photographers & artists. I have had other Canon flashes and what I like about this Canon 199A is that it has the (I don't know what you call it) the ability to go from a 90 degree angle to a 45 degree angle and the photographer can bounce the flash. It also came with a leather kind of a case. Very nice. If you are interested you can find the instruction booklet for the 199A on line. The pdf 199A instructions can give you a better explanation of this product. There are a lot of other neat features for this flash that I did not mention.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

It's a nice looking flash. I wanted it for my elderly Canon A-1 camera
I cannot say if the flash is easy to use or if it has consistant output or if it re-cycles quickly. This is because the four AA batteries were left in it and they leaked that white acidic stuff in the battery chamber. I am still trying to clean it. If I am unable to clean it adequately, I will have to bring it into a camera repair shop to get an estimate from them. powerful flash
Nice accessory to my A-1. I'm still having some trouble triggering the flash with each snap (even waiting the requisite recycle time). It seems the auto function doesn't always register that a flash is needed for proper exposure -- so maybe 35-40% of any given roll will be exposed without a flash. I am still trying to figure out a way to "force" the flash to be triggered with each exposure, whether the meter finds it necessary or not. Again, this is taking into account the requisite refresh time of the flash. But, overall, I am satisfied with the results when the flash successfully fires, and it was a good price all things considered. Oldie but a Goodie
Arrived in good shape and works as expected. Very little wear marks and having the diffuser was also nice. The diffuser kills the flash output buy almost a full F stop but does make the coverage go out to cover a 24mm lens.
