Product Information

Alien: Isolation is set 15 years after the events of the sci-fi horror classic Alien, and it puts gamers in control of Ellen Ripley's daughter Amanda as she heads to the decommissioned space station <i>Sevastopol</i> to investigate her mother's disappearance. But shortly after she begins searching for the flight recorder from the <i>Nostromo</i>, it becomes apparent that a single Alien is loose in the space station. This Alien cannot be killed, the station is filled with panicked humans and erratic androids, and players are armed with only a flashlight and a motion detector.<br><br>There are multiple entry and exit points in every room of the ship, which means that while players have more options to escape sticky situations, the Alien can also attack from any number of places. As they explore the ship, gamers can hack systems and find randomly generated resources with which to craft useful items and weapons. But the Alien has been designed to use sight, sound, and smell to track down players, so using weapons or running in all but the direst of circumstances may end up being more harmful than helpful.

    Great survival horror game, some minor weaknesses

    This game has fantastic gameplay for a survival horror, with intuitive controls, immersive environments, and deadly enemies. The xenomorph character in game is so fluid and gives an insight to the creature in a way the movies never could. The story as a concept is good, but the storytelling and voice acting leave some to be desired, still decent and doesn't detract from the game, just isn't quite compelling in execution. Good fun game that extends the Alien universe in an exciting way.

    Gets a solid "meh" at best

    Game is super slow going, with not a lot of action. The graphics of the surroundings and the ship look beautiful, but the people look like sh*t. I'm sure it's fun for some people, but it's just too slow for me, and not as scary as all the other reviews make it sound.

    Very tense and thrilling!

    I play a lot of survival horror games, The Evil Within was one I finished recently. If you play this in the middle of the night it will scare the sugar honey iced tea out of you and the story is compelling. Especially pick this up if you are a fan of the Alien movies.

    Warning

    This game is very good but not an easy one at all. There is too much alien and not enough time to do what you need to do between encounters. It seems like the alien is always one room over and listening hard to anything your doing even if you are creeping as slow and soundlessly as possible.
