      Great camera

      This is a good camera not only for the price but in general. Has great zooming capability as well as macro. Once you figure out all of the features it’s one of the best point and shoot cameras out there.

      Important features removed

      I own a Canon PowerShot SX720 HS & while in movie mode, I take pictures. The '740' removed that feature. In order to take a picture, you have to turn the knob to a camera mode. Then to go back to making movies, you have to turn the knob back to movie mode. Big inconvenience. The other feature that got removed is the Live Mode. This features allows you to adjust the contrast & saturation of the picture. I use this when hiking and it's real shady.. Without that feature the pictures come out dull.Come on Canon. If you are upgrading a camera, leave the previous features intact.

      Powerful compact camera takes great pictures

      This Canon PowerShot is easy-to-use, takes ultra-clear pictures, has a powerful zoom lens, and I can transfer pictures to my laptop using Bluetooth. I only miss having a viewfinder.

      Flash does not fit camera

      Camera is good for close up pictures, which is what I wanted it for. One issue is the so called "Flash". It does not fit on this model of camera. It requires a camera with a hot shoe. It is 3 power LED light instead of a flash.

      Best small travel zoom.
