Soul Bubbles (for Nintendo DS Lite)
Underrated and fascinating game. You take on the role of a "soul-shepherd", whose task is to guide 7 animal spirits through various "worlds", of increasing complexity and difficulty . The spirits are enclosed in bubbles, which can be cut, deflated, and guided, by means of breezes, blown by the main character. They can also be "lost", if the guide is careless in getting them to the end gate. This is all stylus-operated - both the wind-breaths that direct the bubbles through ever more complex mazes, and the dealing with the various enemies, traps and puzzles, all of which differ, according to which world you're tackling. (These vary, from Celtic Druidical, through Australian Aboriginal, Native American, ancient Africa, etc.) The sound effects are perfect - louder "above" ground, muted below, and reflect the sounds and music of each world - digeredoos in Australia, Native American chants, and so on. And the laws of physics apply! Cut bubbles to manoeuvre them through small gaps, and watch them distort, to fit. This is a great game - totally addictive! Why it's not better-known, is a tragedy!
