    DBX-1231 Graphic Equalizer

    It seems to work pretty good, however there's a hum that it makes. The sound is not coming out of the speakers, it's coming from the actual unit itself when you power it on, so that seems a little bit odd. Maybe it needs to be grounded some kind of way or something, or maybe it's another problem or functional issue or something, I just pray that it keeps working properly. I haven't done a real serious comparison between the dbx vs other brands, so I'm not sure how it would stack up to those other brands in it's performance. I ordered it used from eBay on 12/9/2021 and received it on 12/12/2021. I hope that this helps. Thanks.

    Great EQ

    This eq will work with an unbalanced system as well. Just use TS to RCA cables and you're all set. That's how I'm using it in my home stereo system. The sound is quite good. It doesn't add any of it's own "sound" to the signal. Very transparent. It does produce a very small hum from the unit but it does not travel out with the signal. Sliders are firm but slide easily. It will handle a large input signal. That's why I bought it. I have a dbx 4bx expander ahead of the eq which can send a very strong signal at full expantion. That's how my last eq got damaged (too strong of an input signal). Happy with my purchase. Recommended.

    Great Item, stands the test of time.

    Tried and true. I installed one of these in a system in 2004 and turned it on, have been using it and have never turned it off. Transparent and quiet. Still works. It is why I bought the exact same unit for a second system.
