The last year of the "Best" retail outlet sets Donruss produced starting with the 1987 Opening Day mid year release. With the 1990 mid year introduction of the upscale Leaf set to compete with the then new Upper Deck issues, this series likely had the lowest production run of all Donruss Best issues. .
