When I purchase a knife there is certain things I look for in a product. #1 Quality : Is it flawed or misrepresented in its advertising. Is it made with quality componets. #2 Is it functional: Will it open easily. Will it do what its made to do. # 3 Is it sharp: If the manufacture dont take the time to sharpen the blade I will not buy it . #4 Does it meet all my expectations: The answer is yes. It exceeded my expectations on all my concerns. Worked and held up to my every day task. Extremely sharp on the big blade. Replacing the scalpel blade took some getting use to because of its close proximity to the cutting edge. One if the best knife ideas I've seen! I wish I had this when hunting years ago,
This is shear genius in my opinion. The main blade is rugged, sharp, and easy to access. The replaceable scalpel blade is razor sharp, and flexible enough to work around bone if needed. Best of all, cleaning is a breeze; I throw mine in the dishwasher without a worry. The scalpel blade is a bit of a pain to change, but once you figure out the trick, it's no problem. I kind of wish I would have opted for the metal version, but unfortunately, it currently is not available in orange, and I wanted orange since I have a bad habit of laying a knife down, and then promptly losing it, and trust me... this will be one knife you won't want to lose. Hope this review helps, I'm pretty sure you will like this knife. P.S. I got mine from Old Barn Taxidermy, via eBay, and those folks were GREAT! Good ... This is shear genius in my opinion. This knife has made all my other knives back up! I use the replaceable scalpel for getting through skin and boning off and the other for skinning. Best knife yet - get one!
