The display size and look is excellent and the accuracy good...within 20 feet or so and the price was right...used: $200 with a 2g SD card. I don't like several things about the operation: The menus are not as easy to navigate as, say, a Garmin. You can't selectively delete your history. You have to delete it all which is not good. When you don't ever expect to go to a place again, why save it? Adding POI's is akward. I doesn't route around traffic jams very well at all. It keeps wanting to take you back to the main route. You can hit "BYPASS" and select up to 30 miles but, it keeps asking to re-route in far less miles. Simple, often used items like adjusting volume or brightness take layers of menus to do. Mio's Customer Service isn't. No reply in the U.S.
Hello, The reason I bought this GPS is because: 1) I m a gadget freak person:)!! 2) For the obvious reason of having the comfort to drive without having to ask people on the way/gas stations about the right directions for a place. I mean its not I cannot live without GPS because before buying this product I predominantly used google map print outs to go to a particular destination. But the maps are useful only when your going from point to point. And GPS for simple reason are more effective because the maps are more accurate and it has text to speech functionlity which is more easy to follow. This is an excellent GPS for both novice as well as experienced users. Plus its a cost effective product as compared to the likes of Garmin, tom tom etc..now garmin is more like sony brand in digital camares..both being advertised on TV/Net etc..n hence the cost is more. Features wise it is same as Garmin Nuvi 650/660 which has more POI's, text to speech functionality which says the Road/street name and the exit numbers etc..so you can just drive comfortably without worrying to look into the GPS screen every time to confirm if you are following the right direction because the previous version of Mio before this(i.e C320) didn't have this feature. It used to show the name of the next Road/St./Exit to follow on the top of the screen but never used to say the say the name of the Rd/St/Exit number. Mio C520 has a nice sleek design with 4.3 inch wide touch screen which is very convenient to use. You can even choose a address and play the demo version to hear how the GPS works without having to drive to that place which will give a fair idea as to how this gadget works. Another good feature - The right side of the screen shows you next 3-4 routes to follow and also you can choose a POI like Gas Station/Restaurants etc which will be shown alongside while you are driving on a particular road. Another remarkable feature of this product is that it - Calculates the distance to a particular place very fast. Also if by mistake you take a wrong turn or route it recalculates pretty fast which is a very important funtionality of a good GPS simply because if it tells that you have taken an incorrect route after 1-2 mins then its of no use because by that time you would have travelled some distance already. Plus it has regular add ons like - bluetooth connectivity and mp3 player like any other advance GPS. Not so good about this product - Haven't found anything extremly bad with this GPS yet. And I can say that since I have enough experience of using the other GPS including Garmin. May be people who are too brand conscious might think of still going for GARMIN but it's entirely an individual's choice. Overall its an improved GPS as compared to its previous verison Mio C320 features as well as looks wise. It's a relatively good GPS which is cost effective and looks sleek and handy easy to keep in the pocket while not driving. Thanks.Read full review

The Mio C520 -gives precise directions for both Canada and the USA. - has excellent support from Mio -GPS system accepts updates to its maps -you can link it with your celullar phone for hands free driving from any car your in. -It is easy to use -the screen automatically adjusts for day or night driving. -it has power for up to 8 hours on its rechargeable battery - it speaks multiple lanquages and I can use it with other countries maps that the C520 in their country supports - I just have to purchase the DVD from this region. This is great GPS system if you are travelling a lot.
I have had the Mio GPS for about 10 months. I loved it until the sound went out. I didn't have the receipt, but their website stated they would honor the warranty for 1 yr from manufacturing date without a receipt. However, their customer service STINKS!!! They told me I would have to have the receipt, even though their website states differently. They were rude and very unprofessional. After many phone calls, and speaking to several "managers" (which I don't think they were), I was finally given an authorization code to return the device. When I received the instructions on how to return it, it stated I would have to have the RECEIPT! No more Mios for me!
