Notes
Steve Hill (aka as Steve Territo) has been playing in bands since 1965. In the early 1970's he decided that blues influenced rock, the blues itself, and it's various offshoots such as 'soul' music and rhythm and blues, were the only forms of music that he was interested in performing. Hill moved from his hometown of Chicago, Illinois, to the Dallas/Fort Worth area of Texas in 1974. He has continued to create songs that attempt to capture the spirit of blues and rock 'n roll from the mid to late 1950's through the 1960's. Many of these were songs where technical virtuosity and music theory often took a back seat to emotion, exuberance, and humor; music meant to be listened to on a Saturday night while dancing, drinking, and having a good time. Today Hill is fortunate enough to be able to continue to play and perform on Saturdays (and other) nights with some of the best players in the DFW area, including Cadillac Johnson, 'Rockin' ' Ron Thompson, Jas Stephens, Linda Waring, Aram Doroff, Steve Springer, Michael J. Dohoney, and others. Reviews of the Steve Hill Trio's 2004 full length CD release, 'What Ever Happened to ( Playing for the Love of Music???!!!!): 'Steve Hill is a rocking good songwriter and all of his tunes are witty, catchy, and best of all-praiseworthy.' Bill Fountain-Southwest Blues Magazine 'While the music breezes from the upbeat to the downtrodden, it's the clever, catchy lyrics that really make their mark on this album. The Trio (particularly Steve Hill, who wrote the songs) prove that they can write as well as they can play. ' Todd Maternowski-Pegasus News.
