One of the best in Core 2 generation of CPUs
If you are not after the edge line computer power, this processor is a good cheap solution. Many DDR2-type Intel chipset motherboard fitted with Intel Core 2 Duo gives user an option to upgrade CPU to Intel Core 2 Quad Processor, like this one. Therefore, the processor may be a cheapest solution to enter the quad-core realm. With good 12M cache and 1333 MHz bus speed, it give a noticeable gain in power, e g. comparing with Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0 GHz.If you are not after the edge line computer power, this processor is a good cheap solution. Good CPU for its age, it handles games well when paired with a GTX580 on a 780 Striker II Formula and 4GB DDR2 1066 2.83GHz, 12MB Cache, 1333 FSB, Quad Core. 3dmark06 score of 16,710 with no overclocking is quite impressive. I tested this against an AMD Phenom 9600 quad core with only a score of 10,356.
