This movie was slow-paced and boring. Several attempts at plot twists that never go anywhere (who the heck was Jenny anyway?). All leading up to a very predictable ending. The main character was very unsympathetic,we've all had our trials and tribulations as a mother, but someone should have gotten her some help. All in all very sad. This one shouldn't have been classified with the horror when it's more of a drama,die-hard horror fans will be very disappointed with it.
I really recommend seeing this, it has alot of simple moments that really shine, even a simple as calling her mom while feeling troubled. The part I liked about this movie and if I even have it right, she wasn't experiencing post partum, that lady was evil and using her baby. Elizabeth does have trouble coping at first like leaving the baby in the car and being fogged. So she hires a nanny and things just get worse. I appreciated the plot, I only wish her husband were more involved but the ending I didn't like, but it's just a story.

Really good movie. Scarry! The ending is fantastic. You would never expect it.

The actors did perform well but the storyline was horrible. I watched intensely thru the whole movie just waiting to see what was going to happen and then the credits started rolling. What? Huh? OMG! There was not even a commentary on the movie to help someone figure it out. Demon possession, witchcraft curse, or just plain 'ole nuts.....who knows. For the previous reviews: if you are pregnant definately one to watch... Ha! Don't waste your time. As stated the actors did perform well, but the script is poorly written, directed. I don't recommend this movie at all.
I have always enjoyed movies that are within the realm of reality. "First Born" takes you to the next level with its deliberate and skillful ability to "twist the staircase" as you ascend, so to speak. Rich with suggestive material and stellar performances, which, naturally, sets your mind in motion. One of those movies that you wish wouldn't end, and, although many scenes appear repetitious (done out of necessity), they pull it off exceptionally well!
