After reading online reviews of "Top 5 Butane Soldering Irons", I saw Power Probe's version to be the best overall. So far, I've used it's soldering ability for a couple of hours and it's heat blower tip for more. This has been a great tool to have. Being as versatile as it is, I would like to see more options for soldering tips, ideally one with a smaller point on the tip.

This isn't even a soldering iron IT'S A WOOD BURNING IRON! Not to mention it's a FIRE HAZARD! The tip melted while I used it. Not to mention solder won't even stick to the dang thing. The solder pump doesn't suck very well, the screwdriver tips bent first time I used it, the stand falls over when you place the iron in it the flux was a brick of rosin, and the solder contains no flux at all and the sponge is, well, a sponge. Take my advice, do yourself a favor and buy a good soldering station like a Hakko, Weller or X-Tronic. Good tools require a good investment.

Used it to solder wires together for low voltage landscape lighting. This worked very nicely. No more hauling extension cords around. It is very hot and heats up quickly. Be aware, it needs a lot of butane.

I do a lot of rewiring. And new projects with LEDs. This past weekend, I wired LEDs into my pantry and in hollow cabinets. This soldering iron was perfect for that. Also has the torch option and blower option for heat shrink!

What a terrific portable soldering iron. It heats up quickly and the construction seems to be solid. This is probably a limitation of ALL butane soldering irons but one fill of the tank doesn't seem to last more than about 20 minutes or so. If you go in the field take a can of butane with you!
