If you're want to skip this lens you can get with DA 35mm f2.4 that match for Landscape that will specific for another type event.

I had a couple of Pentax kit lenses prior to buying my K70. These worked well enough, but I fancied something to do the 24mp of the K70 justice and save the need for carrying 2 lenses. My Sigma 24-70 partly fits the bill, but it doesn't go quite wide enough for landscapes and is just too bulky for carrying around all day. The Pentax 18-135 ticks all these boxed, and is remarkably compact, whilst giving great image quality, all with the bonus of being WR...so getting caught in a shower shouldn't be a major trauma. This lens could rapidly find itself being my go to kit.

I bough this item to get a standard lense and taking regular pictures. It is easy to operate and results are good. Automatic focus work well. I use it on a K20 pentax. The result is a camera with a total weight less heavier to handle than larger lenses when taking standards pictures.
I bought this lens to replace the kit one that comes with the Pentax K-50. I had done some research before purchasing the camera and lens, and I had read a review that said you get better pictures with the "DA" lens instead of the "AL" lens. Bought this lens separate and also a Sigma 70-300. The lenses were for my Pentax K-50 which replaced my Sony Nex-5N, which was a great camera but this one is better. Pictures are the greatest with this lens and I am very happy with the purchase.
I have used the DA L version and this one has same optics plus inlcudes weather sealing. Since I have upgraded from K-x to K-30, a added this one to my K-30 to make it a WR package. This kit lens has excellent image quality and is best value for your money. To get image quality a little better you must pay 3-times more. Pentax makes one of the best in class kit lenses compared to Canon/Nikon and others. It has quick-shift focus option and front element does not spin, metal mount and WR with escellent build quality + gives you great sharpness, colors and contrast. (you have to know it's limitations and use it as needed, but it does give you good range)
