Features at this price point can't be beat! Simply fill the coffee holder, tamp down the grinds (the plastic tamper provided is useless so buy a metal one elsewhere on Ebay), lock the portafilter in place, use the touch pad to select your preprogrammed selection from the front panel OR you can select a manual brew by just holding down the "Espresso" button while brewing and releasing it when you have filled enough coffee into the cup. You can also do the same with the Cappuccino and latte function; hold the cappuccino or latte touch button in until there's enough milk added and then release! I read a couple of reviews elsewhere online criticizing this unit for the poor-quality espresso that it brewed. Sorry, but in my experience this has more to do with the quality of the coffee BEANS used, NOT the machine. Good beans = good espresso/cappuccino; poor beans = bad espresso/cappuccino. I don't use expensive beans, but I sure don't use cheap beans! AND invest in an electric coffee grinder; fresh ground coffee produces a much more superior smelling and tasting coffee! You can't use a "coffee cleaner" solution to clean the milk froth section as commercial cleaners will damage the rubber type tube that extends into the milk container (although you can use such products to clean the rest of the coffee brewing system). Yes, white vinegar and water works perfectly; yes, white vinegar leaves a smell; yes, several rinses of the water reservoir and a couple of run throughs of the brewing cycle without the vinegar solution, just water, quickly eradicates the smell issue, so I don't personally see a problem with that. There is a setting for cleaning the unit and depending on how hard your water is I DO highly suggest you follow the deep cleaning instructions every 40-80 brews. It does involve a little bit of dismantling, but trust me, you WILL notice the difference, and at this price point you can't expect a dedicated, preprogrammed cleaning cycle for the brew head and the frothing assembly (although the "clean" function is fine for general brew head cleaning on a weekly basis). I've used $40 cheap units without a milk reservoir and automatic units costing over $3000, and my daily, go to cappuccino machine? This one! I've had it for over 4 years now, and as I've strictly followed the daily maintenance (cleaning the brew head, the frother head etc.) and 40 brews cleaning regimen it is running as strong as it did the first time it came right out of the box!Read full review

Machine is more sophisticated than the decade plus old Delonghi Caffe Carmen it replaced. Having just one water tank - and it being both visible and removable from outside the machine for cleaning and refills makes the maintenance easy. Electronic controls for making espresso, cappuccino, and lattes takes all the manual guesswork out of the process. Easy clean-up after brews are made. Milk frother works great and is also easy to clean.

The best espresso machine I've ever had! I use it almost every day. It is really easy to use and makes great lattes and cappuccinos. I love the automatic milk frothing feature. A great value for the money!

I really like this machine. It is easy to use, clean and the the drinks are as good as you would get at the coffee house. I like the one touch setup and it brews each cup perfectly.
