The atomic time setter worked as it should. I have a ways to go however before I get down all of the functions, which I'll never remember. This is a pretty nice watch for outdoor use, but I wouldn't say it's any better than my Tissot Trek, which does a lot of what this watch does, albeit without atomic timing. But the Tissot is a lot simpler with it's touch screen. And luckily I live near a Tissot location where I can get battery changes. They're very good about doing that. I own four Tissots and have never been charged for a battery replacement. But true, this watch does have a few more functions like tide and moon phase; One day I'll get to figuring out how it all works. But so far, so good.

This watch looks good in pictures, but it doesn't last. The black on the outermost bezel, with the compass initials on it, scratches off way to easy. I have barely had the watch two weeks, yet the black is scratched away from all around the N,S & E letters. At this rate, the letters will be totally scratched off in no time It makes the watch look old & cheap. I have been home recovering from an injury, since I bought this watch. I can't imagine what it might look like, had I been working during this time. For the money, this watch is NOT worth it.

One of the best looking watches and displays. Like other people have mentioned, the soft aluminum bezel will eventually loose all paint. Even the newer PRW-3500 3510s and 3100s loose their paint and those are steel. If that’s a concern for you, then you may consider something else. The layout of the display is my favorite of any pro trek to date. We Casio nerds of course love the duplex display. Digits aren’t sharp like the newer STN displays or just newer models in general....actually some old models had very crisp and sharp displays. This might be due to the duplex display. I prefer the backlight in these older watches to the newer LED ones. When it comes to the term and definition of “durability” people have varying opinions. I beat the heck out of watches and I don’t consider peeling/chipping paint an issue with durability. My watches look like they’ve been scraped along the concrete for 10 years, but the watch still functions. This watch and any other watch with a rotating bezel runs the risk of the bezel popping off. It’s happened once. Again, if you aren’t in an extreme environment all the time, your mileage will vary, but overall G-Shock and Pathfinder/Protrek watches all withstand the punishment. 98% of you are wearing them as a fashion statement anyway.Read full review

I love this watch, the tide and moon clock is why I bought it, super easy to adjust. the world time is excellent for business travel. It has taken a beating in the workshop on site in the ocean in the snow. I have treated this watch so shabblly and it just loves the abuse. I use the timer and the stopwatch at the gym. The barometer, thermometer are average but they do work ok. This watch is the real deal and I would happily buy it again.

The Casio Protrek PRW-2500 is a great watch. All the functions seem pretty accurate. It's big, but comfortable. The end of the strap has a nub at the end the keep it from coming loose. I haven't seen this before, so I thought it was a nice, simple feature. The thermometer feature seems somewhat impractical due to having to take the watch off for a period of time to get an accurate reading, but this is the case with all watches with a thermometer. Overall, it's attractive, functional, and classic Casio reliability.

This watch is absolutely beautiful. It worked flawlessly for a month or so until a couple of weeks ago. Now the tide chart function only works intermittently, but mostly doesn't. The screen fades away to a blank screen. I have been giving it time but am seriously considering contacting eBay regarding the issue. Its too bad because at first I really loved this watch. Everything else works perfectly but being a surfer, the tide function was one of the main reasons for purchasing it. Yeah I am dissapointed. Hopefully something can be done about it.
Great watch for camping and fishing, tough material no batteries needed solar powered. Has tidal times, world time, compass, barometer, altitude measure and many other features great price AUD $229.22 for a lot of useful functions.

The watch has good looking case and straps. Functions are usual as Protrek watch. But numbers in display are too small. Watch area is tiny. Actually this is cheap option for Protrek if you you are not expecting too much options.

I just bought this watch. I have few other GShocks which I also like but this watch is a must have because of all the cool features for the outdoors. I am starting to learn all of the perks and the more I learn the more I love it. Totally recommend it.

Nice watch, got it for compass and altimeter. Band is not what I am used to, had to change it. Did like the fact it had the wings to elevate it of your wrist. Like all the features and just the right size.
