    Wake Up People!

    After watching Snowden on Netflix I had to buy the book. Some have complained about the "dryness" of his writing, and lack of humor. But I found the book fascinating. It starts out with Edward's childhood. His fascination with computers seems to have come from his father who was a engineer in the Navy and had brought home gaming systems and the earlier pc's. Snowden learned fast and years later after failing out of Special Forces due to an accident, he gets enlisted into the NSA. The book goes on to tell how he discovered how everyone has a Permanent Record on the internet. We have so much of our lives online and if you think someone isn't watching you are very wrong. This book is a great eye opener. And I found his style of writing very personal. His sense of humor in the book is a little dry but what do you expect from a spy. I highly recommend it. If you enjoyed the movie you'll love the book!

    Absolutly great book

    I am by no means a big "reader" kind of guy. This book I could not put down. If COVID made you question narratives of the US government, just wait until you read this book. I could not put this book down and I am likely to re-read. He is a bit pompous but that isn't anything that turned me off from reading it. His explanation of computers is easy to follow and you don;t need to be a computer science major to follow along with what he says.

    Everyone needs to read this. Make yourself aware of what the corporate state is doing to you. Also, it is a page-turner and very entertaining. Snowden is a major hero. Then, as a comparison, read or re-read 1984.
