    Good Start of the Hobbit

    This is the first of the three DVDs of the full movie. The quality of the movie is very good. The only point of contention is that it strayed from the book quite often throughout the movie. The book is most excellent reading and I have read it many times. I wish Hollywood would stick true to the books they make movies from but we all know that is asking the impossible.

    Fans will enjoy this movie...

    I read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings when I was younger, and loved them, so of course I had to see all of the movies! I bought The Hobbit because I was unable to the theaters to see it last year, and the 2nd installment was getting ready to hit theaters; I didn't want to watch Part 2 without having watched Part 1. As I mentioned earlier, it'd been many years since I'd read the book, so I'd forgotten some of the story line. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie (although not as much as the 2nd one). Having more recently watched The Lord of the Rings trilogy, it was pretty cool to see the background info. on Bilbo and many of the other characters. Even without reading the books, I think most viewers would be entertained; However, had I not read the Hobbit and already ...

    THE most outstanding adventure movie since peter pan

    I personally loved this movie, i am not earth and nature and the way they took the time to make sure the earth was not changed in making this movie, the hobbit house is adorable i want one, if i had a wish for this time on earth is to be able to see the hobbit house in life before i go home to heaven, new zealand i never realized is so beautiful ! i plan to make a house in the hill 2015 if we have time left on this earth , you have to see this it made me feel privileged to be able to watch this after seeing all the time and money they placed into this film all i can say is WOW! A great family movie , no swearing , no blood and guts, a picture wonderland! get it you wil love it a great christmas gift

    Hobbit World Lovely Addition

    Great movie for adults, but not for children. There are some dark scenes and scary elements. The blu-ray is so clear and the extra tidbits included are fun for those who love behind the scenes. If you are a fan of The Hobbit books, then this is right up your alley.
