Hi everyone! I've been making these cat hats for quite a few years now. Sometimes customers see the hat and think it's missing something, but the solution is a simple one: since this style of hat is made in a rectangular or trapezoidal shape, it must be put on the head so that the corners "pop up" and become like cat ears. Most crochet and knit cat hats are made in this style Basic hats are made to look more like a dome, or half-circle when flat.
