    Does what I wanted

    I purchased this second tray to avoid constant swapping of paper and envelopes in the main paper tray. This Tray 2, which, from what I can understand in the HP forums, now must be designated as the main paper tray. Tray 1 will be loaded with envelopes (in my case) or some alternate paper product for selection when needed. I have found that this works well: Loading letter paper in Tray 2, the default tray, and envelopes in Tray 1, as the alternate I use. I only rated 4 stars because the usage is limited as described above.

    Haste, makes Waste! Sorry I bought this tray!

    Beware.... The model 8600 HP printer has a few idiosyncrasies. The #1 is ALWAYS THE DEFAUT TRAY.When you place Envelopes in the bottom tray, they won't print, even if you especially select the #2 tray in your Word Processor program. You have to move tyhem into tray #1. If you do a lot of letter writing or bulk mailing this unit is not for you. The prior Officejet 7410 runs rings around this "P.O.S". Thank goodness I only paid $150.00 in Costco, and another $60.00 for the tray....Don't waste your $ on this accessory tray....Spend the extra minute and swap out your letter stccok and throw your envelopes in tray one.... I have been on the phone with HP TECHS for hours without no satisfactory results...... They keep this glitch under the wraps until its too late..... Go to ...

    Two for One

    I wanted to keep two types of paper (photo / regular) readly available and the second tray does that perfectly! I now have ONE printer ready to run TWO different needs. RV ;-))

    Very Handy

    I love having two trays so that I can print envelopes and not have to keep switching out the paper. This product does that for me. It is also fairly easy to set up.
