What can I say, you guys are Rockstars. I don't know what I would do without you, whenever my motherboard fails for whatever reasons. Mainly age to be honest. I just finished setting this one up, and it's fire!! Always good packaging and I have never ever received a dead board. This is my fourth purchase I believe. Thanks again.

  • Great Gateway for Cable Internet all in one unit!

    This is an all in one unit - hook up your cable internet, connect up to four wired computers and setup the WiFi for mobile access (Laptops/Netbooks/Cellphones/etc) ... The only drawback is this is an older gateway that needs a firmware update - apparently hard to find. But this functions perfectly so far and seems to have little issues. It will restart on it's own if it has a problem - likely a provider issue - and quickly restore access. I have enjoyed using it for gaming, surfing the web and watching streaming videos via my Cable Internet connection. I wanted one device instead of two or three sitting on my table serving internet, so I bought this item, in addition - I likely save $5 a month on my cable bill because I'm not leasing their modem.

  • Comcast version of router is crippled

    The descriptions of this item I found on the Internet indicate a number of wireless security options that don't seem to apply to the Comcast-branded version. In the Comcast screen, WEP is the only option available; I don't see any settings for WPA. Links to the product manual on the Cisco/Linksys web sites appear to be dead; the PDF may no longer be available. There don't appear to be any available firmware updates which is unfortunate, because a number of sites seem to indicate the router is not entirely reliable. I haven't yet tested it enough to know. Default username/password: comcast/1234 ***UPDATE*** This router is TOTAL JUNK. It ended up in the electronics recycling. Comcast tech came out, was surprised to find we had it, showed me the logs of all the dropped packets etc etc. I ...

  • Wireless Outstanding BUT...

    ONE mention that has to be said... TIME WARNER IS A RIP-OFF!!!!! GO ahead and get your own router and Time Warner will charge you for NETWORKING and not alleviate the rental cost of putting in your own equipment. Thus you will end up paying; Basic Cable, Internet Service, and personal networking cost... Which is Time Warners way to keep you paying the same out of pocket. It should be argued that service from inside the wall it is the customers responsibility...but since this router has 4 switch (Cat 5) output plus Wireless output TIME WARNER considers this as NETWORKING in your own home or business and TIME WARNER will charge you additional fees. This extra fee is tallied to your bill if you opt against using a TIME WARNER ISSUED ROUTER that has the same wireless, in my case the POS ...

  • Wonderful device! Such a blessing! A++

    I've used a device like this for several years. Finding it on ebay for super cheep really helped me save money by not making me spend money on the cable companies modem which would cost several dollars monthly. Receiving this device helped so much in routing my internet and transmitting wifi. The only complaint I have is when I first received the device the wifi was not working until I changed the name of the network in the router itself. I had no idea how to get the wifi working. I had to go online to linksys.com and talk with technical support only to figure out I could not get assistance with the product. The online tech told me to read the manual she sent me in a link. I would suggest to the future sellers of this product to inform the costumer that they need to change the network name ...

  • Comcast / Linksys WCG200-CC Cable Modem Wireless Router

    I bought the WCG200-CC two weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive gateway. It has wireless, a 4-port router, a cable modem and a USB port (for connecting a USB printer to the network), all-in-one! I believe while this router is "Comcast" specific, it also sells as Linksys WCG200 for other cable providers (like Time Warner etc...). This gateway is DOCSIS 2.0 compliant, so if you're looking for a DOCSIS 3.0 gateway, you may want to look at other alternatives (e.g. SBG6580). FYI, not every customer is able to get DOCSIS 3.0 speeds (Upload/Download) at their addresses, so call your cable provider first to ensure availability. Else, you'll be paying top $$$ for no good reason (note: LAN speeds are often not a top priority for most, ...
