About this product

Product Information

Although it is recommended for "elementary school students of all ages," Quest Fantasy Challenge will more likely resonate with fans of early '80s gaming as it is basically a shameless clone of Mr. Do! and, to a lesser extent, Dig Dug. Players dig maze-like tunnels while collecting items (such as boomerangs and a book that annihilates all enemies) and avoiding and/or shooting monsters. A sound (if borrowed) concept to be sure, the game has dated graphics and repetitive music, and is slower and clunkier than either the arcade or Game Boy versions of Mr. Do! and Dig Dug. Worse, after 20 short levels, the game ends. Not even the addition of bosses, ten different enemies (such as hellhounds and scorpions) and a fantasy setting can raise this game above mediocrity. <!--Book-->
