  • Great camera with limited memory card support

This camera was recently released by Olympus, takes great pictures both as an underwater camera and a point-and-shoot, can pass for a normal point-and-shoot, and has a metal casing. The only reason for its low $100 average selling price is because it uses xD pictures cards. Olympus has now moved on to using SD cards instead. The max size of the Olympus xD card is 2gb. You could get an xD to micro sd adapter and bump up the storage space to 4gb. The camera takes great pictures and is very easy to use. It doesn't take pictures as good quality as the Canon d10, but the d10 costs $300! I don't think that the slightly minimal difference in picture quality is worth 3X the price tag. Also, the d10 is quite hefty and large compared to the point-and-shoot size of the 550WP. I'm very happy ...

  • Olympus Stylus 550WP 10 Meg

The camera is compact and is basically water resistant so canoing, kayacking, rain will not matter when in the elements and also good with short underwater shots where you can actually dunk the camera. I've had Olympus style cameras before with great success. There is a slight lag in inital taking of the picture and shutter, so you have to be a tad proactive. I needed a camera for when I am out in the elements and foul weather won't matter to it.

  • under water OLYMPUS 550

i havent really used it that much under water how ever its nice to know you have the luxuary of going in the pool or into the beach with it when ever you want ..you can go snow boarding skiing playing in the snow ..come on whats not to love of a camera that can take some abuse wipe it down charge it and do it all over again?? First thing I did when i got it was stick it in hot water out of the tap i let the water run belive me it was hot placed the camera on the timer slipped it in and let it take a picture of me thru the water it came out super nice like it wasnt even in the water its a great camera.... not bad for a benjamin

  • The First,Best Camera on the market!!!

This Camera is waterproof to 10', shockproof from 5',has a big LCD screen, it's very easy to use. At 10 megs, you get crystal clear pictures. Lot's of shooting options(shutter speeds, aperture openings, different lighting conditions, different automatic settings so the camera will shoot the best shot for your given situation, you can lighten/darken,crop,remove the red-eyes from your picture rite from the camera(before downloading))It even has a help button that helps you to understand the functions of the camera, when you in the field, ready to shot. With a price range between $100 to $200, I don't think you'll find a better camera anyway. Olympus is a leader in the industry with a very helpful software/website for any questions that might arise. This was a GREAT purchase, one I'm sure I'll ...

  • Olympus Stylus 550WP

I love the look of this camera and the fact that it's underwater. The image quality on screen isnt as accurate as seeing the photo on your computer, clarity-wise. Easy methods of changing modes, which I like. Also comes with cord to hook up to your t.v. and CD program to help with editing your photos, which is awesome. The anti-shake isnt as effective as I had hoped, like that of Canon cameras, but for an underwater camera I can live with it. I was very pleased with the price I won it at and the easy to understand instructions. Overall this camera gets an average rating just because Im not so extremely enthused about the blurry pictures when theres no flash.
