Great Sci-fi adventure blended with realitic world.
While this is not the SG-1 team. The production team did do a great job with the pilot episode to branch of from the orignal series. The story and characters are great with nearly perfect special effects to back up the sci-fi adventure. I'd have to say that the concept for the new enemy is one of the best I've seen in a sci-fi series. Although a pilot show, the dvd is a bit over priced for the amount of time it runs. I'm a sucker for almost anything sci-fi, and this (and the previous Stargate SG-1) is one of the best. The whole concept is so spectacular, and the special effects are great. The characters in this program are pretty varied too which adds to the enjoyment of the show. Many times the characters are shallow and not well-developed, or they are too many of the same kind of character. Atlantis is SOOOO NOT this way! Intriguing idiosyncrasies make for intriguing interactions between the characters on the show. Interesting Science Fiction, reminiscent of Star Trek
I love this new series enough to buy all the DVDs that are available to date. It has the interesting and has complex characters of the original Star Trek. The cohesive bond that joins them together reminds me of the best of Star Trek. There were stories that were a morality play, but the bond that the character shared was the reason that the Star Trek world has continued for 30+ years. I haven't watched all episodes yet but I see something special in it worth continuing to watch and see IF it is a long lasting as it counterpart Star Trek.I love this new series enough to buy all the DVDs that are available to date.
