The sequel to Microsoft's pigskin launch title features a number of additions as well as the necessary changes associated with the 2002-2003 NFL season. New features include the ability to edit team playbooks, uniforms, and plays as well as an option to challenge opponents online. Four game modes include Practice, Single Game, Season, and Network Play, with the latter supporting the Xbox Live broadband service. Players can set up individual profiles, download updated rosters, create a friends list, and monitor rankings in the areas of win-loss records, disconnects, offensive stats, and defensive stats.<br><br>Those without friends online can take advantage of the Quick Match or OptiMatch feature. OptiMatch lets players customize their game beforehand, from weather conditions to the frequency of penalties, and finds an identical match with another player having the same preferences. Players selecting the Quick Match option will simply connect with a randomly chosen opponent. Those with friends online can create a list of up to 100 players whose online status can be monitored while connected to the Xbox Live service. Members from this list can be sent invitations to play NFL Fever 2003.<br><br>The post-game highlight reel, illustrating the key plays or drives that led to a team's victory, has also been expanded, and Kevin Calabro replaces Dick Stockton for play-by-play announcing duties. Changes made to reflect the 2002-2003 season include an eight-division format, the Houston Texans expansion team, updated rosters, and new stadiums for the Bears, Lions, and Patriots. Also new to NFL Fever 2003 is a seven-game challenge against classic teams from the NFL's past, all of which are selectable once players defeat them. Previous features such as training camp, dynamic player performance, create-a-player, and the 25-year dynasty option have also made the transition.

This game is BY FAR my favorite football game ever! I've tried a LOT of different games and this one outscores them all! The players move more smoothly than the players in Madden. CONTROLS are a LOT easier than Madden '08, and you can adjust them to your own desires. DYNASTIES: Play a single game or build a dynasty league! Even unlock great dynasty teams of the past for special exhibition games. CREATION: Create your own players, faces, padding/equipment, plays, teams and even stadiums! Control the weather or windspeed if you want. FREE AGENCY: Deal with free agency, drop/trade players, extend contracts, trade with other teams, receive trade offers from other teams, trade draft picks, deal with salary cap, VERY VERY REALISTIC! When I first got this game, all I wanted to do was play. Now ... This game is BY FAR my favorite football game ever! I've tried a LOT of different games and this one outscores them all! DRAFT PICKS: You even have to scout out the new class of draft picks every year, find out what your team needs are and draft players accordingly. Or draft that superstar rookie QB to trade him to another NFL team that has the RB you want. LOTS of different strategies here. Even trade your draft picks with other teams for players and/or draft picks! SPECIAL EFFECTS: Play the replay with true 360 degree imaging. Zoom in, rotate the camera whatever you want! Save the best for highlights later on. Listen to the announcers call the action, hear the bone-crushing hits on the field, or set the audio for the stadium announcers or all three! There are even reflections on the helmets and footprints in the snow! CALLING THE PLAYS: Change the routes your receivers take, change the hot routes if you want, call audibles at the line, even create your own set of plays for offense AND defense! (I love the blitz plays I've created!) Even reverse the plays given for the game. PLAYERS: Create your own, use the real guys in the game, unlock dynasty greats from the past! The players' skill levels go up and down according to how well they play. If your QB throws five INTs in a game, you might find his skill level dropping! If your RB runs for 100 yds and 2 TDs, his status will rise! (And so will his price when his contract is up!) All in all, the absolute best football game I've ever played. This kicks games like NFL Blitz, Madden, and NFL 2K3 to the curb! The action is fast, the hits are STUPENDOUS, the amount of stats you can compound is astounding and the realism is simply amazing. I LOVE this game! So much so that when my disk got scratched, I bought a brand new one on eBay. Now, I will warn you that the NFL FEVER 2004 version isn't as good. The action in the '04 version isn't quite as fast, but the 2003 version ROCKS!

I HAVE AN OLDER XBOX CONSOLE THAN MOST PEOPLE. MOSTLY BECAUSE THE GRAPHICS OF THESE GAMES ARE STILL QUITE GOOD AND THE GAMES ARE MOST AFFORDABLE. NFL FEVER 2003 HAS GOOD GRAPHICS, THE GAME PLAY IS VERY SMOOTH AND THE GAME ALLOWS ALOT OF DIFFERENT OPTIONS. THE GAME ONLY COST ME $3 DOLLARS AND CHANGE, HOW CAN ANYBODY GO WRONG WITH THAT?

It only gets better
After playing NFL Fever 2002 I didnt think the game could get any better. With the release of this game I am a true believer. They have made the game so much better its amazing. Not only are the graphics even better but the replays are amazing. The annoucers are better and have more things they say. Also, the game is more realistic in the sense that it is harder to run for long distances without getting tackled and the pass coverage on boths sides is better. So far I have also seen the interception rate become more realistic. Why settle for the boxy nfl players of madden?
