    This works really really well. I needed to power exactly 8 (NAS) drives, and this works perfectly, with excellent performance (using it as software md RAID 7 on Ubuntu Linux). Everything is configured out of the box, but since I didn't need to boot from the SATA drives, I saved many seconds at bootup pressing control+S, and using the firmware menu to disable BIOS support to make it OS only, this way it didn't need to scan all drives at startup.
