    82 Yamaha XJ 750 Starter Rebuild

    I knew I needed to rebuild the starter as I opened it up and found all the original components! No complaining when it went 34 years before needing some attention. It is a good idea to pay careful attention to all the positions of the various spacers, washers, nuts and especially bolt. I disassembled, cleaned and reassembled in record time, pushed the starter button and was rewarded with the whine of the starter motor. I had reversed the brushes! LOL After about 15 more minutes I was up and running. The kit provides o-ring replacement, shaft bearings as well as brushes, plate and most everything you need to do a general rebuild. This kit will not help rebuild the shaft or gears, at that point I would look for a good used replacement myself. I would highly reccomend this kit for any bike ...

    This product worked great on my 79 Chevy...

    This product worked great on my 79 Chevy, blazer. Although it says it's for a chevy, from 1982-1986. The ninety degrees angle helps keep the wire away from the door, this this would help the wire not kink within time.
