    Nice surprise.

    I build electric guitars and finish most of them in poly. I apply the finish the old-fashioned way with a squirrel mop, 3 or 4 coats. The longer you leave it to harden the better. Flat wet sand to 2000. Now its time for Menzerna 400. With a slightly dampened 6 inch red foam pad for poly, spotted with some 5 pence size dots of Menzerna and running medium speed on an oscillating polisher work the surface. It will be fast. This product removes material quite heavily initially and then as the product particles become smaller it polishes the surface to a shine. Don't let the water dry completely as you work. The product will go almost clear at the end of the pass. Wipe it off with a microfiber cloth and see what you think. You will be surprised. I'm not an expert paint guy, but I use ...
