    NOT gluten free

    Several recipes call for spelt which is related to wheat and is not gluten free. Most recipes call for at least 1/2 cup of coconut oil which is not healthy at all. Pictures were awesome, though.

    I just received this wonderful book from my sister who found out I was recently diagnosed as gluten intolerant and needed to cut back on sugar as well. Real sad since I collect a LOT of dessert cookbooks that I can bake from, but not eat from! This book is a Godsend to people like me! Ms. McKenna has writtern a lucsious dessert book from her famous NY bakery by the same name that contains vegan, gluten-free, and mostly sugar-free recipes. Lots of pictures and comments from the stars that love to buy from her. All the ingredients are given in the front and how to obtain them if you can't find them locally. Most you can. She does use spelt in a few recipes and explains how it differs from gluten-free and how some people can tolerate this ancient ancestor to flour, but some ...

    I was exited to find this book, finally treats for those with gluten intolerance. The recipes are easy to use and the desserts actually taste very good. I recently made the cherry lemon cupcakes for some friends. The cupcakes were a big hit. I actually borrowed this cookbook from my local library twice. I just had to buy it.
