If you intend to buy a handheld Garmin GPS and it comes in two versions -- be SURE that you get the "H" version. The "H" version takes a standard USB cable and mini connector. Units without the "H" require a cable with a strange proprietary connector from Garmin that is never available cheaply. The one I bought showed an ebay stock picture of the "H" version but what I *got* is the older version, and I don't want to drop $15 on a cable that I will use exactly once to update the firmware and map. It doesn't seem to lock up as fast as my GPS V but the performance is acceptable in open areas. In the forested area where I tried it the reception is spotty and there is no provision for an external antenna. Unlike the GPS II, II and V -- I would not trust my life to this.

  • Great product!

Great product. Although old technology, great for fishing. Way ahead of its time.
