      Good for short range communications

      We purchased this for a customer that needed to have the radio mounted on a vest without having the normal antenna hitting the roof of vehicles ans such. Unless you have a VERY strong signal with a repeater or trunking coverage the antenna is OK for short range communications. Our customer is using this for simplex operations with a tactical radio so the coverage is OK for the intended customers purpose.

      Shorty Antenna

      I purchased this antenna for my Motorola XTS 3000 VHF portable and was very surprised with the ruggedness, it is obviously made to last a long time. And I was surprised at the band width it would receiver and transmit on; although it did present a much shorter distance than the full size antenna but it was useable. Being made by Motorola it lives up to their reputation without any question. I would buy this antenna again without any reservation and I would recommend it for any other radio that uses an SA antenna connector.
