This small 48-page booklet contains the most important parts of Call of Cthulhu, a short overview - taking up the first eighteen pages, and also includes a short scenario to play on the first day, some handouts to give the players, and a copy of the full character sheet needed for play. As usual, it contains a paragraph about "Never Played a Role-Playing Game Before?" It has a color-tinted front cover and a color-tinted back cover, and many black and white illustrations. I've always been fond of "Call of Cthulhu" and this is a great example of what to expect from the larger books. One of my favorite things about CoC is that you do not need any other dice but two different color D10's. This, when rolled, gives a number from 1 to 100. The feel of Horror should never be downplayed. Everything should look, sound, and feel like a horror movie set in the late 1920's or early 1930's - the era where Lovecraft set all of his stories. Seventh Edition is one of Chaosium's best revisions of the game to date, and you should not pass this opportunity up! Highly Recommended!Read full review
