There's A Refreshing Sound In Gospel Music - Dawn Monique! When one listens to Dawn Monique and feels the spirit and passion that encompasses her singing, it is obvious she's anointed to sing. Born in the City of New Brunswick, New Jersey to parents who are musicians and pastors, Dawn Monique heard her calling at a very early age. "This baby is to grow up and sing; there's something special about the way she cries," her mother exclaimed minutes after giving birth to her. Just as early as Dawn Monique began talking she began singing solos in church, and started singing in the church choir not too long after. In her sophomore year at North Brunswick High School, Dawn Monique founded the High School's Gospel Choir. Before she graduated from High School, she performed a Russian Opera, "Mazzeppa", with Princeton Pro Musica at Carnegie Hall. In 2000 Dawn Monique met Di Shawn J. Gandy who would become her husband and producer. They became a team. Dawn Monique's soulful and passionate voice found a unique and lovely blend with Di Shawn's lyrics and musical compositions. Together with a very talented and soulful band, Dawn Monique has a sound that is uniquely gospel soul music. Audiences have the same response time and time again, "Refreshing!" Like the book of Psalms, the Jewish and Christian Hymn Book, her self-title debut album 'Dawn Monique -- Here To Stay' speaks of the ups and downs, the triumphs and seeming defeats, the guilt of disobedience, as well as, the joy of coming back to one's rightful place in God. For Dawn Monique 'Praise & Worship' does not belong to a genre of music, but it is the heart that cries out to God in a real human way, expressed in the various types of conditions people in the Bible found themselves in. Dawn Monique desires to touch on the entire Christian experience. And in this Album she does exactly that with the heart-to-heart discourse between God and mankind. "Dawn Monique -- Here To Stay" commands your attention and grants you an exhilarating experience both musically and spiritually. It's easy to see that she is comfortable singing and loves doing it. "My desire is to touch the heart of God so that when I sing the Lord's song He will in turn touch the heart of people, convicting and converting sinners, and strengthening the saints. I love the lyrics, the music and everything about it," she emphatically states. It is clear that she is doing God's will. Dawn Monique - wife, daughter, sister, anointed preacher and singer, songwriter and producer - is going to touch many with her message. Recognizing that it is all God, she is persuaded in her mind that with the Lord she is "Here To Stay" and desires for others to be so persuaded. "You may find a hundred reasons why you think life outside of Christ is better, but give God's love a chance. You will see that God is, without qualification, the Best! Simply put, He's an "Amazing God"."
