Having just received the 28mm crowfoot and checked to see that it fitted, I was a taken back by how loose it was on the nut. That was when I remembered that Triumph purposely made the nut smaller on the 2009 Street Triple R. This was done, as it states in the workshop manual, so that a layer of masking tape could be wrapped around it, to prevent marring, prior to undoing it and torquing it back up again.
Nevertheless, I checked the size and found that the crowfoot measured 28.18mm on all sides
