This is the fifth one of these cameras I have owned. I paid over $400 for one as a faculty adviser of the yearbook at a school. It took better pictures than most of the other cameras we owned. It became the go to camera for quick pictures at events. Other than sporting events, it was our best camera. When I left that position I bought one for myself. I loved that camera and it last me for over 10,000 pictures of all kinds. It just did not last to all the drops that came from its use by my children. I bought them one after this one died due to their abuse. The third one still takes great pictures. I bought two of these cameras recently from Ebay. One to keep in my truck for quicky snapshots and one for my wife to keep in her car for the same. So, we now have three Cyber-Shots that we love. I hope when one of these gets too abused to stand up to my children that I can find another. I own a Nikon D7100 that I love and take great pictures with, but I don't carry it in my truck, so it doesn't take near the quantity of pictures the Cyber-Shot does.Read full review

My first digatail camera, after research I found All the controls are just where they should be. You insert the battery only once and thereafter it charges right inside the camera. The LCD screen is covered with a clear plastic panel, so there is no chance of scratching it. You can take pictures from 1 megapixel all the way up to the 7.2 megapixels. With the close-up setting, you can get as close as two inches to the subject. As with most point & shoot cameras, this one auto-focuses and adjusts automatically to virtually all lighting conditions. By the way, this camera also shoots movies with sound. The camera is elegant and its sleek body fits nicely in the hand. All in all the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P200 7.2 Megapixel.
This is a wonderful little camera that is easy to use and more than adequate for everday picture taking. Be aware of the one problem that has happened with this camera is that the lens extends to full zoom when the camera is powered on which eliminates the zoom feature and prevents good closeups. Be sure to verify with the seller that this problem is not present.
I purchased my camera in 2005 when it was state of the art. I baby this camera, and it hasn't let me down. I still use the original Styrofoam sleeve, as extra protection from dust, to store the camera inside my camera case. One reviewer stated that the access door is cheap plastic; I agree with this assessment. The charger-door hinge is rather flimsy, so I'm always very careful with it so that it doesn't break. I did drop my camera at some point, and the impact dinged the charger-door so that it doesn't completely close. It's the only damage, so I can't complain too much. Due to the plastic of the access door, I give this camera four stars. In all other respects, it's a five-star camera.

Great little camera. Performs most of the functions of high end big sized digital cameras at fraction of cost and the convenience to carry around like a cell phone. I was amazed at the clarity, sharpness and color reproduction I got from the first few sessions, while I still needed to master all its functions to the their best potential. There was a review by one user that I read on this site which criticized the camera for taking oversized pictures. The user was ignorant of the fact that the size of pictures can be adjusted. I have also used Kodak V550, another very remarkable camera, which compared to this one is very easy to use. But make no mistake this one is capable of lot more, however you need to read its user's manual and learn lot more to put it to its best possible use. If you are thinking of investing in this camera have no doubts whatsoever. It will really pease you.Read full review
I have actually bought 2 of these, one to replace the first that was destroyed in a fire. The features I like most about the camera are the high resolution for the size. To get much higher you need the larger SLR cameras. The other features that make this camera better than most is the ease of use. No complicated menus/settings. There is very little to no delay when you click the button. Many digital cameras have a significant delay. Before I bought the second I got a Kodak (because the local shop didn't have a pocket sized sony digital) and there was a constant 3-5 second delay. Try getting kids to keep it together for that extra time or with a lengthy delay is useless for nature shots. It also has a high quality Zeiss lens, which makes very clear sharp images. This camera also has a video mode to take a few minutes of video. The battery life is much longer than most. This would be a wise choice at the original full price of $300 let alone for the $100-$200 you can get it for now.Read full review
I could recommend the Sony DSC-P200 for no other reason than the Carl Zeiss lens. I mean, why not get all the advantage you can? That's what the Carl Zeiss lens does, much of the work. I took this camera to Hawaii and, with little study of the complete manual (I did read the Quck Start guide thoroughly) I got what were called "coffee table book" shots. And that comment came from a friend who *teaches* photography and Photoshop at a local community college. THAT's how good this camera with that lens in it is. Some of my pictures were made using various settings that I manually adjusted, using the camera's Manual settings or Programmed settings. (I have MUCH to learn about the various combo possibilities of shtter speed, white balance, aperture, etc.!) But many great shots were made merely by selecting the point-and-shoot mode and letting the camera do the work. The 7+ megapixels (I rarely use 7; usually I use 5) means that you'll have the option of cropping out unwanted or uninteresting areas of any picture you take and still have a great, high-density photo left to work with. It also means that digitial editing software has a lot of information to work with. I also love the full-frame video. Nothing beats being able merely to flip to the movie setting, press the shutter button and instantly be taking a movie. And you're not limited by a pre-defined length; you're only limited by the remaining capacity on your memory card. (I *highly* recommend getting a 1G card; you'll never miss the money and you'll love having so much storage capacity to work with.) I did a lot of research before buyig a camera. I picked this one because one of the most rusted review sites had very little negative to say about it. Also, a pro wedding photographer said he had one as a back-up for his wedding jobs and was able to take commercially-viable shots with it. This is a GREAT camera!Read full review
My grandmother cried when she accidentally left her's in the rain. Ever since then, she has gone through 4 other digital camera's trying to duplicate the image quality received by the Sony Cybershot 7.2. I'm not sure if it's the lens or the actual workings of the camera, but this camera takes better shots than some Nikon's and Kodak's of 12+ mega pixels. She consistently goes back to her computer and compares the clarity and the color quality taken between camera's, and hands down, this Cybershot wins. The flash is not overpowering indoors, and outside, the camera holds up with the best. For the price, if you can get you hands on one that hasn't been over used, it's the best camera for the buck.
I have 3 Digital camera's 2 Sony's and 1 Kodak. The DSC-P200 by far takes great photos is super easy to use and with a 1 GB MS can take hundreds of pictures. Battery life is great and after a full charge gives you more than 200 min of Picture taking Time ( which for me equates to a weeks worth). Its a very small but easy to handle camera, and because it is so small it can be carried your shirt pocket or on your side next to your cell phone without any worrys, the Screen is Nice and Big 2" size and it is VERY clear and does not break up when moving into a brighter area unlike my Kodak 310 which has a very pixilized screen when going from dark to light. Sony's CCD is perfect, the colors that are taken with the DSC-P200 are right on, bright and without fade. Pictures printed on Photo paper look pleasing and very well defined with the correct color balance. Cons: The ONLY thing that I find to be a downside to this great camera is the "Special" USB / Video transfer cable. It is Non-standard so you can't just use a mini-usb cable if you lost or broke your cable if on a trip, and from what I can tell it's a special order cable from Sony. This cable is a USB to a Duel RCA Video out & Propriatory Sony Adapter that gets pluged in the bottom of the camera. The only other minor thing is the cheap way they have the DC IN door cover, very poor as it can be broken off easy if your not careful. I hope that helps everyone - My recommendation is Despite the A/V cable and DC door is to BUY it. The Sony DSC-P200 is a great camera for the price and the pros far out way the cons. You can't go wrong with this cameraRead full review
