    Not bad for a Windows laptop

    Full disclosure: I'm a dyed-in-the-wool Mac user but sometimes I find it necessary to dip my toe in the waters of the "dark side". My ancient Windows laptop finally gave up the ghost, so it was time to get something newer. This HP laptop offers a lot for the money. Performance is a little on the lackluster side but upgrading the RAM from the factory installed 4GB to the maximum 8GB does help. It should be noted that there is only one RAM slot, so one must remove the existing 4GB and replace it with 8GB. While it's not exactly ruggedized, it feels fairly well constructed and has a sufficient number of USB ports. The only real gripe I have about the the design of the machine is that HP omitted an LED on the 'NUM Lock' key, which is handy to know when it is or is not engaged. Similar lights ...

    Excellent product for the whic price

    I've owned a succession of laptops over the years. I've found HP to be the most reliable. This is a refurb so it made the price point perfect for my needs. It performs fine as you would expect. A bonus is the attractive red color. I've not yet burned a DVD and since my previous Lenovo DVD burner stopped working is the reason for the purchase I've got crossed finers it will work on this machine.

    Right screen size and lightweight

    My kid enjoyed using the laptop for college. We're able to download microsoft office and some other window applications for use. So far the computer is working fine. My kid is happy with it.

    second look

    At first every seemed to go alright till it updated to windows 10 1511 when the dvd software dropped out of it and the webcam was very grainy. Then I reset it and and everything worked perfectly. The laptop still installed windows 1511 but I still have all the features that were described in the sellers ad. Its a great laptop and I love hp assistant that helps in updates and information about my laptop. I received my laptop in three days of ordering and was packaged very well, I would highly recommend brownbox to everyone, Thank you Brownbox

    It's just what I was looking for!

    I took a chance and ordered this laptop through Ebay and I wasn't disappointed. It's a refurbished piece but it's like brand new. I was in the store and they had these priced at $300 + tax without the option for warranty. With the warranty purchased separately the total price would've been close to $400. I bought the laptop AND the warranty for less than what I would've paid for a brand new HP alone. The item came early and when I opened it I noticed it was in great condition. The setup was really easy as well. I'll be using this for work and school. I'd definitely recommend purchasing this item here.
