Great for some games - make SURE you know what it's for
This is the official Nintendo cable for connecting a GameBoy Advance to a GameCube (or compatible Wii running a GameCube game). You have to keep in mind that what you can do with it will depend on your game library for both systems. This cable ***DOES NOT DISPLAY GBA GAMES ON YOUR TV***. I mention this because some people seem to assume it will and then get disappointed when it doesn't. If that's what you want to do, look for a GameBoy Player. Only a relatively few games make use of this cable, and on many of those it doesn't add a lot to the game. It might unlock some exclusive content or an extra level when you connect a GBA, possibly with a certain game. Or it might let you use e-Reader cards, like in Animal Crossing. If used with a GameBoy Player, it lets you use a GBA as the ... This is the official Nintendo cable for connecting a GameBoy Advance to a GameCube (or compatible Wii running a GameCube game). You can use this to trade your purified Pokemon out of the story mode and into a GameBoy Advance Pokemon game -- from which you can shift them up step by step to the 3DS games. You can also use 1-4 of these cables to battle Pokemon from GBA games in 3D, either taking on the 100-battle challenge alone, or having a free battle with 1 or 3 friends. Definitely make sure to get an original OEM Nintendo cable, or at least an old used third party cable from a reputable brand like MadCatz, Nyko, etc. The official ones have nice plastic latches on the GBA end to prevent the cable from coming loose mid-game. Third party ones sometimes have metal latches which work but may scratch a GBA SP; or no latches at all. The ones to absolutely avoid are the new ones from brands you probably haven't heard of -- these often do not work at all, or always fail at a specific point.
