About this product

Product Information

"Life's too short. I'm not."You might know her as a Tony Award-winning Broadway star, who originated the role of Galinda the Good Witch in the smash musicalWickedand won a Tony for 1999'sYou're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Or you may recognize her from her starring roles on TV --The West Wing,Pushing Daisies,Sesame Street...oh, and her Huge Hit SitcomKristinon NBC. (Huge hit. L.A. breast-implant huge. Ask either of the people who watched it.) Or maybe you saw her sexy spread inFHMmagazine? Or her appearance on Pat Robertson'sThe 700 Club? Kristin is a wonderful collection of contradictions -- but everyone who's ever met her remembers her as the little girl with the big voice. At four foot eleven, Kristin Chenoweth is an immense talent in a petite but powerful package. In this lively, laugh-out-loud book, Kristin shares her journey from Oklahoma beauty queen to Broadway leading lady, reflecting on how faith and family have kept her grounded in the dysfunctional rodeo of show biz. The daughter of an engineer and a nurse, Kristin was singing in front of thousands at Baptist conventions by age twelve and winning beauty pageants by age twenty-two. (Well, actually she was second runner-up almost every freaking time. But, hey, she's not bitter.) On her way to a career as a professional opera singer, she stopped in New York to visit a friend and went on a whim to an audition. Through a combination of talent, hard work, and (she's quick to add) the grace of God, Kristin took Broadway by storm. But of course, into every storm, the occasional drizzle of disaster must fall.Filled with wit, wisdom, and backstage insight,A Little Bit Wickedis long on love and short on sleep; it's essential reading for Kristin's legions of fans and an uplifting story for anyone seeking motivation to follow his or her dreams -- over the rainbow and beyond.

  • She is far from Wicked

Kristin's book is every bit as cute and random as she is. You can hear her voice literally say what you are reading. As an actress, I loved reading her stories about stage. As a girl very close to her parents, she had it the same way with her parents wanting her to do what she wants but making sure that she finished her Masters (Thanks Dad). And having the gay best friend that will tell me the truth when it is needed...I identified with her so much. Her being on Ellen made me want the book before it was even out. Kristin is adorable, she may be older than me but it's great to read about someone that is tinier than me :-)

  • Do you want to hear a story?

This book takes you on a tour through Kristin Chenoweth's story about how she got where she is today. Even without one whisper of gossip about any of the people she's worked with, touring through Kristin's career is amazing. With lots of personal anecdotes, lessons learned, and even a recipe or two, she tells you all about the lucky instances and defining decisions that got her to where she is today. Above all, I think it's really a lesson in faith. Kristin's unwavering faith rubs off on you while she tells you about all of the fantastic times when her faith has seen her through.

  • Funny and insighful book by a cute and talented woman.!

Kristen is a wonderful singer, actress, celebrity. It is refreshing to see someone who is quiet about their religious beliefs, yet shows them in their everyday behavior. Kristen is funny, smart, insightful, and thoughtful. It was a pleasure to get insights into her life and career. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a singer or fan of singers. I am a singer, and have had people in my life like she had, who inspired me, and helped me to strive to be a better singer. I went into computers instead, but that is not a story to be told here. Luv Ya Kristen....!!!!! Phil B

  • Gift for Mom

I bought this as a gift for my Mom for Christmas, as she really likes Kristen Chenoweth. She said it was an easy read (it took her one day) and funny. I personally enjoy celebrity biographies so would recommend it.
