If you are into the 80's protest era, you'll love this CD. I worked for Marion Power Shovel at the time. The late 70's and early 80's were the hay day of the strip mining business. I had an the good fortune to see both sides of the demise of Paradise, Ky. I will not get into the argument of what management called progress and the protesters called raping the land. the reason I bought the album was the song Paradise, which tell the protesters side of the story better than I could. It brings back many memories.
Great early John Prine. He was a wonderful songwriter and singer. I loved this album in the early 70's. Having heard it again for the first time in decades, and being more experienced and nuanced now, I understand why his songs were so great. And he was a great performer.

If you like John Prine, you will like this CD. It is is a copy of an LP originally recorded in 1971 by Atlanta Recording Corporation. I have the LP and wanted to have a CD also. The songs on this CD are representative of the kinds of concerns brought about during the Viet Nam era and some of the songs deal with drug use. Others deal with human emotion such as "Donald and Lydia", "Six O'clock News" and "Hello in There". Before you buy, I would recommend checking out John Prine on U-Tube and sampling some of the songs.
I don't ever use the term awesome sauce. I'm a grown man. But I love the CD.
