    I don't like the upward facing remote sensor at all!

    There's a couple of things I don't like about this DVD player, and that's that the remote sensor is on top of the machine. That means that with my current media set up, we have to stand up in order for the DVD player to sense the remote. That's kind of a pain. I've also noticed that the picture freezes, or skips when watching DVDs once in awhile. The skip, or pause is very fleeting - they only last a second or less, but it is noticeable. On the positive side, the Coby DVD player has no problem reading some of our older DVDs that we hadn't been able to watch on our old DVD player(which was a cheap APX brand)because of damage to the disks. So I'd say that for the money, this was a good purchase. The problem with the remote sensor is really more of a personal problem than being any problem ...

    good player for the money

    Plays dvds clearly, loads quick...can't beat it for the money. Slim compact design fits nicely on top of any Tv. remote control has many features that make operation easy.

    Coby DVD-233 Great Bargain

    I found the picture to be much better than my more expensive Magnavox DVD player. Very happy with the purchase of this unit. The only thing I wish it did do that it doesn't is hold the memory of where you stopped your DVD like my Magnavox does. Otherwise, it is a great little DVD player.

    COBY DVD-233 DVD PLAYER

    I NEEDED AN INEXPENSIVE DVD PLAYER. PRODUCT IS AVERAGE, BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I WOULD NOT PURCHASE THIS ITEM IF IT WAS MY PRIMARY DVD. IF YOU NEED A SPARE DVD FOR A BEDROOM, THIS ONE WOULD BE FINE.
