    Venezia - the perfect addition to your Italian recipe library and kitchen!

    I purchased this book in direct response to having visited the extraordinary city of Venice in 2011 and thereby creating a kind of food memory of my all too brief sojourn there. One of the immediate attractions of this beautiful book must surely be its exquisite outer presentation - stitch bound, gilt edged pages, black velvet ribbon book marker and voluptuous colour. Once inside, the photography is dreamily evocative of Venice. The recipes are, as indicated on the front dust jacket, heavily influenced by the sea which gives the book its strong regionality ... 'Venice is Italy's kingdom of salt and pearls, proseco and mermaids, bigola and polenta'. The little summaries and comments that accompany the recipes are perfectly pitched.
