About this product

Product Information

It all started with a mysterious letter left at a tiny bookstore for authors Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black. Its closing lines: "We just want people to know about this. The stuff that has happened to us could happen to anyone." Little could they imagine the remarkable adventure that awaited them as they followed Jared, Simon, and Mallory Grace and a strange old book into a world filled with elves, goblins, dwarves, trolls, and a fantastical menagerie of other creatures. The oddest part is in entering that world, they didn't leave this one!Five captivating books! One thrilling adventure! The Spiderwick Chronicles

I was very happy, finally finding, this Large Print version for my mother, even though I thought $9.99 shipping was a bit excessive. My happiness continued until I opened the shipping container and found a receipt itemizign book and shipping which totaled $15.00 less than I paid. Your suggestion for me to ignore the receipt was not the solution I was looking for when I contacted you. Perhaps a better solution would have been to apologize and insure you would be more cautious for future sales.

    Perfect purchase!

I got exactly what I ordered, exactly as it was offered. I'm extatic. The books are in great shape and the stories in them are fun and exciting. My 11 year old loves the fantasy and suspense. I love the new take on a magic existence.

  • It’s a good deal

The books all take like an hour to an hour and a half to read so if you’re a new reader and need something with little extra detail lots of rapid plot progression or just some nostalgia this is a great series the sides of one book showed some Weare and the pages were bent in a few corners on the same book and I found a tanning salons business card in one of the books but for tenish dollars that’s all totally fine

  • The Spiderwick Chronicles books

The books are as great as the movie and held my attention as well if not more. Each book takes about an hour and a half to read so great for bedtime stories. I do recommend this set but make sure your child is not scared easily by the goblins.

  • Good read for grade 3 and up

This is an enchanting and engaging set of books about three children who go to visit a great aunt and find a book telling them about the fairies and woodland creatures inhabiting the land around them. What child would not go out to explore? The quintet is very well-written with an engaging story line and contains a realism to the characters of both worlds. There is an innocence of spirit to this book not found in the Harry Potter series making it appropriate for 3rd grade children reading at or higher than grade level at this time of year, and up! It is of a high interest level and is a quintet of chapter books that give children both the enjoyment of a good story as well as the satisfaction of finishing a five-book set much more accessible than the Harry Potter books. The publisher's ...

  • Captivating!

Let me start by saying that my 2 oldest sons are in 3rd grade and 2nd grade. I bought these books to read to them because they are both avid readers and I think it also helps aid in comprehension, recall and fluency when children are still read to at their ages. We read each book in order and on different nights. Each book took me just over 1 hour to read, even with pauses to allow them to look over pictures and predict what would happen next or answer thought questions I would ask them. There were plenty of gorgeously detailed illustrations to supplement the story. The books were fast paced, well written, very well thought-out, engaging, funny and descriptive. My children enjoyed them immensely. The only thing I did not like about them was some of the language used (cr** for example) ...
