24 is an action packed mini movie that has terroistic threat that must be dealt with by the CTU(Counter Terrorism Unit) in one 24-hour period per season; each episode is one hour in that 24-hour period. Each season has been able to become more intrigueing and exciting than the one before! Do you like sitting on the edge of your seat? Do you have want to have to remind yourself to breathe? Do you, like most Americans, need a hero? Then you will love 24! My husband, son, and I could hardly wait for it to come out on DVD and watch every action packed episode. We became hard-core 24 Addicts after stumbling onto the show on Fox during season 4, aired in 2005. There was so much action, so much intrique, such incredible special effects, intense character development, and yes, that is what we saw in only one episode! We ran, not walked to the video rental store and began watching the series on DVD. Our family quickly developed a routine of having 24 "watching parties" every weekend to watch 8 or 12 episodes at once, with Jack Bauer the guest of honor! I never can get enough of the show's movie-scale set and exciting, intense action. The interpersonal relationships are so thoroughly explored, all the while these unseen heros of our great nation are saving lives, the country, and the world in fresh and unpredictable ways, and often at their own personal expense. The characters will inspire you, enrage you, sadden you, and cause you to rejoice all in one episode! Watching one episode of 24 is like eating a Lay's potato chip: YOU CAN''T HAVE JUST ONE! Watching the show on DVD is the ultimate way to experience the ticking clock; the evolving and resolving of monumental terroist threat all in one 24 hour period! How amazing is that? And as if the excitement of each episode is not enough, we even created a game at each spot in the DVD made for the commercial break whereby the show fades to the clock ticking; after a few seconds the ticking clock is shown again with a period of lapsed time; meanwhile all three of us (and any friends also present) try to guess the seconds that will be shown on the clock when the show fadse back in. Of course, we all have a 1/60 chance of guessing it correctly; and the excitement and tension of the episode seems to carry into our little game making it tremendous fun! By the way, my husband is the reigning 24 clock champ with having guessed correctly 14 times in the watching of all four seasons! Try it with your family as you watch, it really is fun! The clock is ticking ... get your hands on the complete DVD set with special features and commentary! It's time you got excited about something, and this is it!Read full review
Each episode of 24 is ONE hour in ONE day. A season consists of 24 HOURS, or 24 Episodes. Action is so jam packed, realistic, and edge-of-the-seat exciting, that only watching the season on DVD will do! I can't imagine waiting a week to find out what happens next, when nearly every episode leaves me breathless and wanting more! Federal agent Jack Bauer is the exact kind of hero we need in this day and age; he's tough, moral, loyal to the core to his country and his President, and will do whatever it takes to keep the mission, and America, safe! And the things he is willing to do wil astound you; anger you; compell you; and make your proud, ALL AT ONCE. The makers of this series take the time to fully develop their characters, and very well too. The international terroism plots make the series a hot topic, and will ave you looking at Homeland Defense in a whole other light. Get it. Watch it. Be intrigued. Be entranced. Be informed. Be another 24 addict!Read full review
Like a T-shirt my husband has says: WWJD - What Would Jack Do? Ohmigosh, is "24 - Season Four" a cliff-hanger? Is the sky blue? I bought this DVD set so we could catch-up on some of the action preceeding "24 Season Five", which has been running on Fox-TV this year. Its not that "24" is addictive, or even our most-watched TV, but every Episode makes us cringe that it will be a whole week before we can find out how the plot thickens. This is absolutely the best show we've seen - but wait, there's more... when we own the DVDs, there are no commercials! Where they would appear, is a slight blackout to indicate the scene changes - and a chance to catch my breath. Keifer Sutherland is extreemly photogenic, and looks great at any angle. The stunts are almost unbelieveable, but Jack Bauer has become the new James Bond. As a poster I saw reads: "If you think you know what's happening next - you don't know Jack!" This is not a children's show - there is violence - meaning people get shot or are in other danger. But contrary to most TV, there is no sex or language issues. If there is any doubt about showing to children, I suggest previewing one Episode, or so. They're available to be rented... but then, you'd figure out it's less cost to just buy the DVD's and watch them again and again. Am I enthusiastic? Maybe it shows. Why did I buy it at eBay? I shopped on-line retailers and video stores, but this was absolutley the best price. Yea, eBay!Read full review
For anyone that is a 24 enthusiast, you already know that the fourth season of 24 was amazing. So much action in only 24 episodes. I own every season that is available to own, so for me even at the 50-60 dollar retail price tag, it was worth it. 24 is an amazing show to watch the first time round, and a great show to share with friends and family, who missed it the first time round. I know that i was able to watch the entire season with my dad and he loved it, he's hooked on the show now. I guess the best way to look at season four on dvd is to think, am i a true 24 fan? Unless you do decide to put aside 24 hours to watch the entire season in one sitting, this isn't really worth it. 24 is replayed on a&e and fox, so if your not gonna watch it in one sitting, i recommend just tuning into those channels when its on. Another way to look at it is if you are a new-comer to 24, did you see season 5 and want to know it's background? If so, i definately recommend buying all 4 seasons or if you want, renting them, i know some places allow you to rent 3 or four discs at a time, for 10 bucks a month, which is highly worth it. Then if you like what you saw, go ahead and buy the seasons. The problem with 24 is that, you really do need to see it from the beginning, you will never get the full story if you don't go back and watch from the first season, especially because so many things get linked back to the earlier seasons. So, my advice to you is, yes this is a great season and it has good extras on the dvd, but yes, you should also go back and see the earlier seasons before you watch this one. If you get this season, you won't be disapointed, you'll just be yerning for the next season :). Hope this helps, JackRead full review
If you’re as far as season 4 you are probably an addict like myself. I made the terrible mistake of actually watching this season every Sunday @ 9pm. This is absolutely no way to watch 24. For seasons 1-3 we got the DVD's and watch each season within a few days. It is highly addictive so I must warn you ... ONLY watch this series if you have time to burn! I honestly cannot recommend watching this show from week to week … just too much happens between each show that you lose the urgency of finding out what happens next. The only way to watch this is getting the DVD’s! “24” chronicles a day of Jack Bauer, the greatest man alive. We only have 2 rules while watch 24 ... Rule 1 - NO TALKING Rule 2 - NEVER question Jack Bauer’s authority! The whole series is amazing. Simply having a series dedicated to 1 day must have been a monumental task. I love how the show comes together and how you can love and hate the same character in the same hour! There are some truly unforgettable characters in the show as well. I just hope they can keep some of the original cast since everyone seems to be dieing or moving! This is a MUST SEE! Start with Season 1 and be prepared to lose the next week or two of your life ... but I somehow manage to justify it as time well spent! Catch phrases I have found myself saying in my sleep: Long Live Jack Bauer!! Palmer for President!! Woohoo! Sherry is dead!! Holy Crap Kim is HOT!! ENJOY!Read full review
I mirror another review I read. If you've gotten this far, you're hooked. My wife thinks I'm insane spending all ( I mean ALL) of Friday night watching episode to episode. I've been accused of being all kinds of an ass in my life, BUT NEVER HALF ASS! Season 4 is great. Don't try to watch this series sporadically. It's best going back to back episodes and Season 4 is worth watching. Jack continues to be the only person that has any smarts. The slickers get their due and it's just terrific. I really enjoyed watching the behind the scenes bonus interviews, etc. to see what goes into the production of these episodes. I bought Seasons 1 through 3 and sat on them for about a year until I got around to watching Season 1. From the first episode, I was hooked. It's great entertainment! If you buy it, you'll like it. Guaranteed!Read full review
I saw the entire series once before on TV. I am in my second watching and it is just as good as the first time

24 is a series played out in real time. That means 24 episode, one hour each, covering one day in the life of federal agent Jack Bauer. I'm warning you now to not begin the series unless you are planning on finishing it in less than a week. Watching 24 is like chain smoking, you can't turn the current episode off without starting up the next. I went to Hollywood video to return the disc I had just finished. I was standing in line to get the next disc when a couple got in line behind me with the same disc. We were talking about how we couldn't sleep at night because we were watching 24 when another customer walked in, dropped of his copy of 24 and headed straight back to the "24 section" for his next hit. I asked the clerk if anyone ever dropped off a disc without picking up the next one. She just laughed, shook her head, and said no. Anyways, the series is full of action, drama, and romance. The casting and acting is terrific. Every episode and every season outperforms the next. Buckle yourself into your sofa because you're going to be there for a while.Read full review
Keeps the action paced enough to keep you coming back for more. Excellent production values with engaging characters. Good for binge watching on cold, cloudy days.

Another great season of 24! I liked this one as much as 1 and 3. Season 2 was good, but my least fav. so far in the series. If you love high octane action, then there's nothing better than 24. The acting is excellent and the characters draw you in and make you think of them as being real people instead of over paid actors(ha!). People have said that they are just milking the series, but from what I can tell the series hasn't lost fan base or become dull, so how can you milk something that's still going strong?
