    Great DVD

    This BBC production of Silas Marner is excellent. The dialogue, casting, sets are all pretty perfect. The story is compelling and thought provoking, with ethical situations that are relevant to today. It is PG rated, so the family (13 and up) can watch it and discuss it, then read the novel.

    Decent adaptation of the book. It is a touching story of the redemptive power of love. Ben Kingsley does a very good job portraying Silas Marner.

    Good Movie at a Good Price

    I bought this DVD to replace a defective copy that hung up 10 minutes before the end. This copy works fine and allows me to see the end of the story. A very good period movie!
