    Simple tone control to make a small kick punchy

    I'm using this for a 16" kick in my Yamaha Hip Gig kit. I need the kick to be punchy for funk, smooth and tonal for jazz, and low-end thumpy for rock. I've used two of these, one on the front head and one on the batter. I thought it would deaden the drum too much but instead it's never sounded better. It lacks the open ring I like for bebop, but as a compromise, it's an excellent solution. Lugs tuned with about 1 full turn from finger-tight on the front head and 1.5 turns o the batter.

    Eliminate the "Forever ring" of drums.

    Gives the drums a more "defined" tone instead of just ring and noise and sustained echo. It also gives each played note, more "punch" in my opinion. Great for recording!
