Entry lens are 50 mm and the magnification is around 8. The real marking appears to be 8 x 50 which is best for hands viewing. It's NOT as bright as compared to my Olympus binocular but for $20 I can't expect more. If you are after something you can throw in in a boot as a casual binocular "just in case" this is it. Value is 5/5. Build quality is 4/5. Viewing quality is 3/5. Overall 4/5.
