Runyon digs into Hanson's personal life and finds evidence that in college, Hanson participated in an alcohol-fueled orgy as part of a sorority initiation. When faced with this scandal, Hanson refuses to respond to the attacks, causing a political crisis leading to further shocking revelations.Former film critic Rod Lurie's second film (after the thriller DETERRENCE) is a tense potboiler with issues ripped from modern headlines, including the nature of political ideals and the national curiosity with leaders' sex lives.     Well worth watching

    I got it for a bargain price. You can't beat 2.99 for an hour or so entertainment. It was a really good story and very well produced. For something 18 years old it was still very relevant to todays way of thinking for a lot of people. Recommended viewing.

    The contender a female is very slow to hold her own part but turns out alright.

    Jeff Bridges plays a Great President.He is perfect for the part.His speech at the end to Congress is one of the best I have ever heard from a actor portraying a President.
