You can actually see holes between the two. Even putting a hat band on it, you can still see through the holes. Be cautious when dealing with this seller as you WILL take your chances that the item may have defects and you will be out of luck. The hat itself is very cute, but, alas, unwearable. I contacted the seller and did not hear back.
