RV042, 10/100Mbps 4-Port VPN Router is an advanced Internet-sharing network solution for your small business needs. Like any router, it lets multiple computers in your office share an Internet connection. But the unique dual Internet ports on the 10/100 4-Port VPN Router let you connect a second Internet line as a backup to insure that you're never disconnected. Or, use both Internet ports at the same time, and let the router balance your office's requirements between them for maximum bandwidth efficiency. The 10/100 4-Port VPN Router also features a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Ethernet switch to connect eight PCs directly, or you can connect more hubs and switches to create as big a network as you need.

    Good bargin for getting a VPN Router

    I've always used Cisco commercial routers and the RV042 lives up to Cisco's reputation. I use the VPN system on the router and connect to a WAP4400N wireless access point. I would recommend this router if you are looking to use a VPN for external access. I've had a number of Cisco products over the years and never had an issue with any of them.

    Excellent Router

    A little older, but still a solid router. If you have less than 100mbps from your ISP this works great. Allows for 30 NAT routes and dual WAN. Still have these in use in several small offices.

    Raw Power for SBA/Home

    I was able to reflash this router to the latest firmware. It's capable of loopback, and does a fine job, making it useful for 3d virtual world technology. It is feature packed and quite impressive. Cisco has made excellence in this one.

    it is good device if you have 100mbit network with providers. work fine with 2 providers and load balancing. one issue - limit to 30 line in static route - if you need your one list. i hope it will be fixed with new devices.

    Poor Performance

    Good build quality but Limits speed to 20-25 mbits on my 100mbit link. Tried everything with no luck. It should't be labelled 10/100 as its not correct.
