Synopsis
This book presents Frank F Maples straightforward model for categorizing information elicited from clients, which he has adapted for social work practice with individuals, families and groups, reflecting the movement in social work toward the current need for solution-based and brief therapy. Techniques for focusing on the competencies rather than the deficiencies of those who seek help and those who give it are emphasized, and readers are given the opportunity to decide upon appropriate interventions at key points of the interview., This book presents Frank F Maple's straightforward model for categorizing information elicited from clients, which he has adapted for social work practice with individuals, families and groups, reflecting the movement in social work toward the current need for solution-based and brief therapy.Techniques for focusing on the competencies rather than the deficiencies of those who seek help and those who give it are emphasized, and readers are given the opportunity to decide upon appropriate interventions at key points of the interview., In Goal Focused Interviewing, Frank F. Maple presents his straightforward model for categorizing information elicited from clients. Building on his previous book, Dynamic Interviewing, the author takes readers beyond the therapeutic models presented in the past. This work reflects the movement in social work toward solution-focused therapy, or brief therapy. He has adapted this model for social work practice with individuals, families, and groups. This book is written in an engaging, interactive style, giving readers the opportunity to determine applicable interventions at key points in the realistic helping sessions presented. The author emphasizes techniques for focusing on competenciesùas opposed to deficitsùof help seekers and helpers. The choices of interventions provided show how constructive moves can positively influence outcomes. An appendix to the book includes additional cases in script form that allow the reader to help during significant points of each interview. In turn, the author has provided feedback in response to various intervention choices the readers make., This book presents Frank F Maple's straightforward model for categorizing information elicited from clients, which he has adapted for social work practice with individuals, families and groups, reflecting the movement in social work toward the current need for solution-based and brief therapy. Item took too long to get shipped. I had a tracking number 6 days before item was given to post office. Once the usps had the package it arrived quickly. Item was as described and was packed very well. Customer service was responsive. If I knew that seller took so long to ship I would not have bought item from them. Nowhere does it say on the sellers site that they take 5-7 days to ship. That is rediculous. Anyhow. The old tape deck i bought works. Once belts are replaced it should be good.

Excellent seller! Item arrived in described condition shipped by FedEx on the date projected (3 days). Item was extremely well packaged in a Ziploc bag inside of a custom formed cushion wrap style bubble wrap, in a cardboard box. Great price for a great item in great condition!
