Phenomena but characters used too much in familial plot
I saw the First, now Fourth in set at age 8 squished in front row as lines were long and saw this looking up and it was damn good even straining my neck. Looking back it was a bit young as a space "war" with glory medals at the end let alone funds. Real wars also include booty of manufacturing and companies that are then in their hands with a different tone between soldiers and shrewd politicians and businessmen. I didnt get into merchandising. Thought trailer for 2nd was a bit hokey saying Darth Vader is his father hanging on this pole in space. Other fun scenes didnt pop out. Looking back, Flannery O'Conners story at end used this as a ploy when a white grandmother as last survivor says to mobsters Im your mother, he shoots her and says "Its no fun in life!" If your enemy at that point says I'm your father or I'll be, or thats the best I can be to save my life here, I dont know what I'll do. I saw this movie way later after 3rd in set ten years later. Theres no win or glory as in 1st or 3rd but characters now entwined in family drama and Solo now to be entwined in further. Is this like European monarchs or Caesars daughters or Napoleans and Leopolds nieces as nephews just get it wrong? Return of the Jedi was fun, actors were older, the long drawn fight scenes with two villains, but one quasi Darth, didnt seem long at all at the time in terms of fight scenes now with cgi and stunt doubles and choreography. In terms of using Yoda, I would think more adept hands on and thinking more outside the box at times using just a saber in a ho hum droll nowadays compared to some martial arts ones using swords. Merchandising is great, all in fun, not quite accurate as in real life theres the Dowager Empress who kills all her own to be the Empress like Darth, and the sense of motherly in history is never done right in film I feel. Maybe a few. The series is a phenomenon, young, catering to a wide range worldwide. A bit inaccurate here and there, could use nieces, nephews abdicate or subsume in wars and disappear, etc. Great series, damn good.

The best trilogy of The Trilogy--Why? Because this is the digitally remastered version of course! You can look forward to fun new scenes like: Han Solo shooting Greedo in self-defense, a trimmer Jaba the Hut showing up in A New Hope, because, why not? Chewie Swings from a vine in Return of the Jedi and does a Tarzan yell, because that is soooo Wizard, I mean, Woookie! Wait, there's more! A very timely and ultimately quite relevant musical number in Jaba's lair, which takes away from the dark brooding presence of the murderous Hut family and all of the scum of the galaxy coming to hang out in the desert for a galactic Lollapalooza. Like I said, all of these changes were quite relevant and only added to the popularity of the series. I am even more excited now that Disney has taken over the ... The Jedi Temple on Corusant will now be replaced with Cinderella's Castle. Leah, now an official Disney Princess will have all of her pant suits retrofitted into modest dresses, and yes, you can stand in line for three hours to get a picture with her too! What a joy. At any rate, this is a classic, it is cheaper than the non-digitally remastered version where Han shot first because Greedo had it coming, and Jaba didn't show up until Episode 6. Unfortunately a scene that ended up on the cutting room floor was where Vader tells Luke that he is Luke's father, he goes into greater detail: explaining that it was a very difficult time between him and Padme, she kept spending money on clothes and they were running out of imperial credits because Jedi Knighting doesn't pay well (look at Yoda's Crib, and he was a Master!) and ultimately he thought it would be best if he just join the dark side and she should move on--but there was this nasty custody thing happening, I hope you will understand Luke, I never meant to hurt you, well except just now when I cut your hand off, that was totally my bad. Again, all very relevant. Would I buy it again? No, because I have a copy. If it gets scratched, then yes I will buy it again for sure.

The Dark Side!
The Star Wars Trilogy is great. I bought this for a relative because she has been wanting it back and she loves Star Wars as much as I do. I love Darth Vader, he is my favorite Star Wars villain. I definitely recommend the Star Wars Trilogy.

I was excited to get these 3 dvds. I missed seeing how this journey through stars wars began. I watched all 3 one after the other and they were as good now as they were the first time I saw them. Also the digitally remastered versions were great to watch.
